Museums provide a different environment for yourself and littles to:

  • Build critical thinking skills by looking at artworks and discussing them (no art/history background required).

  • Build storytelling techniques through sheer wonder of what a character might be doing? What can happen in a landscape? What can objects be used for?

  • Understanding maps and directions while navigating the museum.

  • Observation skills while looking for evidence of statements and feelings.

About Me

My name is Elana. I have worked in Museum Education for over 10 years. I am currently attempting to combine my education skills and museum knowledge by homeschooling my 5 year old and sharing my findings with others. I realize that not all parents are comfortable with bringing their children into museums, BUT with the right tools in your pocket you can also feel ready to conquer the joy of museum-going with your kids.
